Recap: South First Fashion Show

When a fashion show starts out with a girl wrapped in a giant python Britney Spears "I'm A Slave For You" style and dances to a tribal drum beat, you know it's going to be a fun show.  But, fashion shows in South Austin are almost always a blast.  A little on the cooky side sometimes, but always unique, South Austin fashion never disappoints.  (And just FYI, I couldn't stop taking photos of that snake girl because it was way too cool.  And my desire to own a snake has now been rekindled.)

The South First Fashion Show, which was held at boutique Mana Culture last Friday, was put together by the non-profit organization Cause to Celebrate.  The mission of Cause to Celebrate is to support local Austin businesses and charities by putting on fun events such as fashion shows and parties.

The Trifecta

Shopping?  Cupcakes?  Wine?  I don't know which is better and you can't make me choose!  Good thing you won't have to choose only one tomorrow, as all 3 of these things are being combined for The Trifecta.  Oh yeah, and there is also live music (you thought it couldn't get better but it just did) by Hans Stockenberger.

There will be cupcake and wine pairings for $13 from House Wine & The Cupcake Bar.  Shopping from local boutiques includes Lovely Austin Boutique, Langford Market, Anne Marie, Diamonds & Guns, Amelia Beth, Amy's Sweettooth bags, Nepenthe’s Bathtime, and Material Clothing.

And, they will be giving out Door Prizes every 30 minutes!

Lovely Austin has Moved!

Lovely Austin, which is a fabulous boutique on South 1st St.,  has moved down the street into a bigger and lovelier location.  I guess their previous locale just wasn't big enough to handle all the loveliness.  To celebrate their move, Lovely Austin is having a Grand Re-Opening Bash!

In addition to the move, they will be celebrating the fact that they now carry the line of locally and sustainably made handbags and accessories from Austinite Anne Marie Beard.

So if you wanna check out some awesome local fashion, listen to some live bluegrass by Whiskey Shivers, and drink a Lonestar or two, come celebrate Lovely Austin's move.

Lovely Austin Concert Series

Lovely Austin is kicking off their summer concert series with live music from Deadtown and Whiskey Shivers and free lonestar.  If you've never been to Lovely Austin, it is a boutique featuring consignment clothing as well as contemporary lines from local designers.  I personally have yet to check out Lovely Austin so I am looking forward to seeing what it has to offer and of course reporting back to y'all about what I find.  Plus, how can I pass up live music and free lonestar?
