Outfit: Grandma's Flowers

Spring has sprung and so have my grandma's famous flowers.  They only last for a few weeks so I got some photos in front of them while I had the chance.  It was unexpectedly cold yesterday which I was not a fan of since just the day before it was starting to feel like summer (my favorite time of year).  But I took advantage of the cool weather by wearing my suede fringe coat that I bought at the end of the winter and thought I wouldn't get to wear until next year.

Midnight Garden Party

I didn't wear this to a midnight garden party.  But wouldn't it be the perfect outfit for one?  Do midnight garden parties exist?  This is actually what I wore to BATHH tonight (Big Ass Twitter Happy Hour).  I then got home and decided my outfit needed to be photographed outside.  I tried to snap a few pics quickly before the mosquitos started to eat through my tights and destroy me.  Yes I wore tights.  I'm in denial that it's not cold yet, and I'm loving being in my own imaginary world.  You should also note that this headband (found at local store Luxe Apothetique) is my new favorite hair accessory.  They have them in other colors too.

Made in Taiwan

I skipped out on Austin FashionWeek this year because I had the opportunity to visit Taiwan.  Seeing as I have not done a lot of traveling outside of the U.S. it seemed like the right choice to make.  But, I hope y'all enjoyed the guest blogging about Austin Fashion Week by my friends while I was gone.  While they were witnessing fashion shows and mingling with local fashion designers, I was doing this:

-trying to do yoga led by a teacher speaking chinese
-walking a hiking "trail" in what appeared to be a jungle
-shop shop shopping
-drinking tea
-eating rice
-eating more rice
-almost crashing a scooter
-attempting to surf (and not drown)
-trying not to throw up every time i smelled stinky tofu
-getting asked to have my photo taken with random asian people
-practicing my dj skills in room 601 after our friend's wedding

Here are some photos of what I wore and the ambiance of Taipei.  I of course sported a lot of local Austin fashion all the way in Taipei.  There will be more photos to come of the street fashion and trends that I noticed while there.

Stars and Stripes

I went around to the local boutiques and found some 4th of July inspired fashion.  Now, I'm not suggesting you wear a handful of these pieces together for this weekend, unless you want to look like you just stepped off an Uncle Sam parade float.  However, most of these pieces could be worn separately year round.  I especially am in love with the navy and white striped dress from Stanton.  It's a perfect representation of the Austin "casually chic" vibe because it looks quite chic but is made out of a comfortable cotton and feels as comfy as a worn in tee.

Austin Digs the Tribal Trend

Back in Januray I wrote about the Tribal chic trend being a popular look on the runways for Spring 2010. Spring is in full force right now at the local boutiques and I found several tribal chic pieces while out and about.

Mirror Mirror

Mirror mirror on the wall around my neck, who's the fairest of them all? Well, it was a long winter and with all this blogging, I definitely could use some sun (or at least some bronzer).

The necklace you see pictured here is in fact a mirror. I love when fashion and practicality shake hands and unite to create something fab.

This entire outfit was found at the Domain. When the Domain first opened, I was hesitant, but I have grown to really enjoy it. And now that there are less expensive stores such as Forever 21, as well as department stores like Dillard's, there is even more reason to shop at the North side of Austin.

necklace: Forever 21, dress: Ark & Co. at luxe apothetique, shoes: Steve Madden at Macy's

The Domain is having a fashion show later this month. I will post details on that soon, so stay tuned! I have to go windex my necklace now.
