New Limited Edition Austin TOMS

Calling all hipsters, hippies, college kids, and do gooders, TOMS has a brand new Austin themed limited edition pair of TOMS available starting today.  The last pair of Austin TOMS were more UT inspired in my opinion.  But these, seem to be more Austin inspired with images of things like the bats, and the capitol.  And, they come in 2 different color options.

These puppies go on sale today at noon at Tyler's on the Drag and go on sale at 2 pm at the new Tyler's in Southlake, TX.

What do you think of the new Austin TOMS?

TOMS Reveals Their Next One for One Product

Today was the day.  TOMS revealed that their next One for One Product is....Eyewear!  Did you guess it? I had a couple of ideas but eyewear never came to my mind, but it totally makes sense.

"from this day forward TOMS is not a shoe company.  It's not an eyewear company.  But it's a One for One company."

Pretty cool.  I dig it.

TOMS, What's Your Next Chapter?

TOMS (the charitable company responsible for making the preferred shoe of hipsters in Austin) are about to reveal the next chapter of their One for One campaign.  Yes, TOMS is cranking out a brand new product.

One of the vaults that will be opened on June 7th was at the Tribeza Lawn party last night, and since seeing it my mind has been racing.  What could be in there??

If TOMS was just another popular shoe company, the obvious choice is that they would reveal something like a clothing line or some type of other accessory, right? T-shirts, shorts, cotton dresses maybe?  But, considering that the point of TOMS is to give shoes to children in developing countries so that they are less likely to get diseases and more likely to attend school, it's interesting to try and guess what would be another beneficial One for One product.  Maybe it's completely unrelated to fashion.

What product do you think TOMS will reveal next Tuesday?

If you are just dying to know, you can go to Tyler's on the drag or Nordstrom at Barton Creek on Tuesday June 7th at noon for the big reveal!

Movember

The month of November is now known as Movember.  "Huh?"  Let me do a little explaining.

While October was breast cancer awareness month and products everywhere were made pink in support, the moustache has become the "pink ribbon" for men's health.  So if you are (hopefully) a dude and you want to show your support for the fight against cancer, then all you have to do is not shave for the month of Movember and rock that stache.  Since a lot of the guys in Austin already have a stache this won't be too hard.  The funds raised through Movember's campaign will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG.

Guys click here to register and participate in Movember!

Ok, but, besides giving moral support, what can the ladies do to help this cause?  TOMS has a limited edition Movember TOMS.  Check this out y'all.  A mustache on your shoe!

Limited Edition Austin TOMS

I know some of you are still not on the TOMS bandwagon (and may never be), but for those of you who love the casual comfort of a pair of TOMS, you might be interested in these.  Personally, I'm not a fan of shoes with writing all over them...but I think it's super cool that the city of Austin has its own limited edition of TOMS, don't you??  I do think Austin is a very TOMS appreciative city.  We like comfort, we like casual, and we like giving back.  I wear my classic navy TOMS every day to yoga.

These limited edition Austin TOMS will go on sale exclusively at Tyler's on the Drag on Thursday, Oct. 7th starting at 2pm.  This is the day before ACL, and I happen to think TOMS are an excellent choice for footwear at ACL.

Will you be purchasing a pair of Austin TOMS?

Made in Taiwan

I skipped out on Austin FashionWeek this year because I had the opportunity to visit Taiwan.  Seeing as I have not done a lot of traveling outside of the U.S. it seemed like the right choice to make.  But, I hope y'all enjoyed the guest blogging about Austin Fashion Week by my friends while I was gone.  While they were witnessing fashion shows and mingling with local fashion designers, I was doing this:

-trying to do yoga led by a teacher speaking chinese
-walking a hiking "trail" in what appeared to be a jungle
-shop shop shopping
-drinking tea
-eating rice
-eating more rice
-almost crashing a scooter
-attempting to surf (and not drown)
-trying not to throw up every time i smelled stinky tofu
-getting asked to have my photo taken with random asian people
-practicing my dj skills in room 601 after our friend's wedding

Here are some photos of what I wore and the ambiance of Taipei.  I of course sported a lot of local Austin fashion all the way in Taipei.  There will be more photos to come of the street fashion and trends that I noticed while there.
