Tribeza Style Week: Tribeza Fashion Show

Tribeza Style Week came to a close last Thursday night with the Tribeza Fashion Show featuring looks from By George, Feathers Boutique, Moss Designer Consignment, Y and I Boutique, Underwear, Estilo, Service Menswear, c.jane, The Garden Room, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Julian Gold, and Saks Fifth Avenue.  I thought the styling of this show was a step up from last year's as it involved more layering, detail, and texture.  It should come as no shock that my preferred looks of the night came from my personal favorites, Feathers and Moss.  Can I please have one of those colorful sequin dresses?...please?  Trends from this colorful, rich looking, and wearable runway included:

1) fur
2) sequins
3) fringe
4) knee high boots
5) vests for the guys

For some reason I couldn't stop dancing and wiggling in the photo pit, but I managed to get photos nonetheless (except for that one outfit that walked down the runway when the lights went out...)

My Outfit: Austin Fashion Week

Austin Fashion Week has been a blast!  I've been running around like crazy and I'm kinda exhausted.  I haven't had time to photograph any of my outfits except for this one...  Thank you Mom for taking my photos!

My Outfit: Those Summer Nights

It all started when my friends and I had an event to go to at the Highball and then wanted to howl at the moon at Barton Springs after.  What's a girl to wear on an evening such as this?  That's when I was forced to get a little creative and used my awesome 80s swimsuit that I got at Room Service as a top.  This swimsuit works with several different skirts to be transformed into a great dress.  Best $10 ever spent.  The swimsuit dress is perfect for fun in the sun, dancing, and debauchery.  Summer nights in Austin are now even better.

Outfit: It's Too Early For This

Whose idea was it to have a fashion show at 11am in the morning on a Sunday?  And not only that, but the dress code was cocktail attire.  After the weekend I had, it was definitely too early for this.  I set my camera up on a random car in the parking lot of the Hilton Hotel in order to take some photos of the outfit I wore to the Austin Threads Exclusive Fashion Show because A) I'm classy like that B) I've completely lost all sense of shame and embarrassment and C) I really wanted to show y'all this amazing top I got at Feathers.  I definitely got a few odd stares from people walking in the parking lot.

Outfit: Birds Babe

Last night I went down to South Congress for the launch party of Verb hair products created by Birds Barbershop.  I honestly didn't have to put much thought into this outfit, but the whole night was full of compliments on my look. I think the attention was mostly due to the leopard tights and super high heels I was wearing (and the short skirt helped too), but I also rocked my bright pink lipstick I got at MAC.  The lipstick held up pretty well until I made it over to Hopdoddy to devour a delicious burger.  The lipstick didn't stand a chance at that point.

Rawr!

I wore this outfit to the fashion show I went to last Thursday.  I was really excited about figuring out a way to wear my new leopard print tights.   I was in a really good mood this night and met some fun people at the show.  I came home and had to have an improptu photo shoot.  In case you haven't noticed, animal prints are a big trend right now.  Rawr!

These Boots Were Made For Walkin

You might be thinkin "hey Joanna, it's still 95 degrees outside, I can't even think of putting on a tall boot."  Or maybe you're like me and are in denial that it's still hot and are already pairing your summer dresses with a fall boot.  Personally I consider boots to be a year round shoe because I am a huge fan of boots.  Why?  Because they are comfy, cute, practical, and look good with almost anything.  They also make me feel like I could run around in the tall grass and kick some ass if I needed to.

I recently went around town to see what boots the local stores have to offer us for this fall.  Amy from Stella Says Go (my new favorite place to find shoes) suggests y'all start looking for your fall/winter boots now so that you are guaranteed to find your size.  I agree.  It may be hot now but before you know it your feet will be dying to snuggle into a pair of socks and cute boots.  Luckily Austin has a wide variety of styles in a broad range of prices.  Check out these finds:

Shop, Sip, Swag

This Thursday stop by Y&I Boutique on South Congress for some discounted shopping and drinks from Deep Eddy Vodka and treats from Fleming's and Kellie's Kandies and Cookies.  Plus swag bags (don't ya'll just love swag bags??) for the first 50 people and giveaways.

I love that Austin has set a standard that there must be free booze at any and every event.
